This project spotlight takes us across the globe to Mount Pokfulam, Hong Kong: a calm, hilly neighbourhood that is tucked away from the bustle of urban life. Here, land is very limited and therefore very precious, so homeowners go to great lengths to make the most of their living spaces.
We recently completed a gorgeous residential project that perfectly showcases the transformative power of a movable pool floor, in partnership with our local collaborator Ever Crown Engineering. Five out of the seven homes in this luxury complex are now outfitted with an Akvo system, effectively doubling the size of their respective yards.
Our movable floors have turned these outdoor spaces into versatile environments, with the ability to seamlessly transition between a swimming pool and a functional living area. From dining al fresco and entertaining guests to taking a dip in the sunshine, homeowners can enjoy a multi-use area that doubles as a safe play space for children all within the same footprint.
This installation marks our 10th project in Hong Kong, with an eye towards many more transformative collaborations around the island. The city’s density makes it a perfect fit for a solution like ours, and just like in Mount Pokfulam, we relish the challenge of turning limited land into an opportunity to accommodate the needs and wants of modern life.
