The Confidante Miami Beach, an upscale Hyatt hotel on a coveted sandy strip, is set to undergo a major renovation. Once the revamp is complete, it will be reintroduced under a new name: The Andaz Miami Beach.
This hotel’s history dates all the way back to the 1940s, when it became the very first skyscraper on the coastline. Today, although the space has become increasingly modern over time, this Collins Avenue mainstay is an enduring homage to Miami’s “Golden Era.” Art Deco accents remind us of a distinctly glamorous time, pulling that same eminent feeling into the present day.
An $80 million investment will transform this iconic property into the Andaz, creating a luxury lifestyle resort experience that blends modern amenities with timeless sensibilities.
The main deck pool is set to be a key pillar of this upgrade, and Akvo has been selected to execute the project. This 1,138 ft² pool will be reimagined as a multi-use area: the pool floor will be adjustable to create an entertainment stage, complete with a water feature and center runway. Weddings, fashion shows, and other large events can all take place here, presenting countless new revenue and experience opportunities for Hyatt.
While configured as a swimming pool, guests will have the ability to soak up some Miami rays on the sundeck and enter the pool using the adjacent 50’+ full-width steps.
The Andaz pool floor is slated to be installed in 2024, with a grand reopening scheduled for later that year…we’ll keep you posted!
