As seen on Southbay

We’re always delighted to have our work featured in print. In this case, one of our private home installations was covered by Southbay magazine, which caters to readers in Southern California’s affluent beachside towns.

Given their audience, it’s no wonder this project caught Southbay’s eye: this lush, sun-drenched home in Manhattan Beach, CA is a snapshot of living the good life in a warm climate. Densely packed leaves and fronds provide shade to a wooden walkway, which caps off a multi-use recreation space.

Sometimes swimming pool, sometimes basketball court, Akvo designed a movable pool floor to transform this compact wading area into a sporty oasis at the drop of a hat. A hoop hovers just above the pool’s footprint, promising plenty of fun in the sun as soon as the floor is rendered flush with the ground.
